ANNIVERSARY SURPRISE!!!

So on the 16th it was our 8th anniversary and since all the weekends in September were not going to work to go away overnight, Brandon called me and said he had someone to watch the kids so we could go out to dinner and a movie or bowling. I was ok with it, I was just glad we were going to do something. We went to brick oven for dinner, during dinner Brandon mentioned we needed to go over to The jerk shack and meet Kelly and Jeremy from Sprinkler world to talk about the heating duct being moved. So after dinner we went over. Jeremy was there but Kelly wasn't. The first pic is of the jerk shack in its current stage. ITs all framed and the heating and air is run. So we are just out there looking at the progress and chit chatting and I am thinking where is Kelly? A few more minutes go by and all of a sudden a helicopter is right over the jerk shack. Brandon turns to me and asks are you ready to go and I said yeah lets go to the movie and he said again are you ready to go? I finally realized as the helicopter is landing right in the grass next to us that we are going on a helicopter ride. I couldn't believe it, I was so excited. As they were landing Brandon said he had arranged to fly around and look at all the beautiful temples to remind us of our commitment to eachother and the eternal love we share. I was shocked and so happy. When they landed the guy taking us came out carrying a big bouquet of flowers which he brought over to me. I was permagrin. My heart lept, and he led us over to get inside. It was much better than a movie and such a great night. Brandon never ceases to amaze or surprise me and I love him so much for always being creative and fun. We trade off every other year planning our anniversary so any ideas how to top this next year?

This was the most incredible view of the Mt. Timpanogos

temple. It was all lit up and sparkling. It actually looks like its glowing.

This was an experience we will never forget.

The huge lot next to the Salt lake temple is where crossroads mall was. It was pretty cool to look down into just the foundation. You wouldn't be able to see that otherwise, only from the sky. The Salt lake temple is always so striking at night and needless to say this view was awesome. As you can see on the last picture, a cop car pulled up right after they dropped us back at sprinkler worlds property. A few other cars pulled up again and the officer came over to us and asked us what was going on? We told him it was our anniversary and he said he was responding to 3 or 4 complaints stating that a helicopter landed in the Papa Johns parking lot. We just laughed and explained the story.

I love this picture of us. It was taken the day before Brandon
started on the fire
dept. That is significant
because it is the last day of his
goatee. I miss it. I hope the
next chief will let the
firefighters have them.
I love you Brandon,
Happy anniversay, you are the
best for the helicopter ride
but also for being who I need to
become a better person. I really
feel like I Heavenly Father knew what
he was doing when he sent you to the
beehive home that day. You melted
my heart then and you still do.
All my love forever and ever.
XOXO, your dude always,
MICHELLE

Aubrey started a class called young musicians on Monday and guess who her teacher is....yes my cousin Laura. Its such a small world huh? Anyway Aubrey will be learning how to play the piano and singing the notes and drumming and using the triangles and lots of other music making items and I am so excited for her. I wish so bad I knew how to play the piano so I am going to make sure my girls are at least given the opportunity to learn. It will be great for Aub and she will learn lots more than music I am sure.

Remembering.....

Aubrey and I were driving home on the night of September 11, and she said to me I just love our United states flag. I said I do too Aub. To me it means that we are free and that a lot of people have made sacrifices for us. It also means liberty and justice for all. She said To me it means.....and she paused and then said IT MEANS WE ARE TOGETHER!! That comment brought tears to my eyes. Because its so true. By the way I was pregnant with her when the attack happened. But she is right, after that attack everyone came TOGETHER and helped eachother. All the loss that was suffered will never be forgotten and the flag can be a symbol of survival and endurance through hard times. I love our country and I am so glad Aubrey is starting her own love of it as well. GOD BLESS US ALL AND GOD BLESS AMERICA.

WOW is all I can say.

Now I ask you...Who sits and looks at a pair of men's briefs and says hmmmm...I can make a nice summer top from these!! On the other hand...$6 for a three pack is a good price!! This picture was taken at a Walmart. I am so not surprised....HEE HEE.

The COUGS slaughter the BRUINS!

This game was the one to be at boy. It was so awesome. I just kept thinking... they have the ball again? Wow and for all the doubters and unbelievers(Dad and Crystal) to name a few I guess the Cougars showed you. Whoever said that opening prayer knew what they were doing, ha ha. It was sad for UCLA though, I am sure they wanted revenge after the Vegas Bowl last year. To bad and I finally have a reason to put a couple pics of the Bowl game since I wasn't blogging then. Yipee ! Go Gougars and get ready for Wyoming. The BCS better recognize now baby.

Ahhh....CAUGHT IN THE ACT!!

Some of Brandons young men and co leaders tried to be sneaky on Saturday night toiletpapering at our house. Brandon spotted them out the window and hurried to get dressed to go catch them in the act. We did catch them and here is the proof.

Jayden starts at Art City

He finally started school on September 2nd. So far so good. He has an aid that stays with him all day named Terry and she says she loves Jayden. His teacher Mrs. Huffaker told me this morning that he's doing great and has a positive attitude 99% of the time. I am so relieved and hope this year will be a good one for Jayden. He turns 12 on the 23rd and I can't believe it. Our bishop interviewed him yesterday upon graduation from primary. Wow a deacon and young mens and helamans camp and all. I am not sure he's ready for all this but his age says he is. I am holding my breath at times with what he will faced with in the next little while of his life. It is hard to know how much to push him and when to hold back. WE LOVE YOU JAYDEN!!!

OK TIME TO GET MY HAIR FIXED!!

Ok so in January I got a bad hair cut. I have been letting it grow out for all these months thinking it might grow into something better. Nope, the short was never going to catch up to the long and vice versa. When I went to get it fixed, I was hoping she could just cut off the long back part and still leave the length in the front. Well, there were just to many layers for that so I had to go short and I mean SHORT!! I really freaked out the most when she was done she took the clippers yes the clippers to my NECK. I have never had my hair this short in my life and I was the most worried about Brandon's reaction. He has been the one saying just grow it out to where it was when we got married. That request could not be granted. For all of you that thought I wanted my hair like this......I DID NOT!! So here is the new do, take a look and see if you gasp.

If you hate it still, please don't comment, my heart can't take it. However I was getting the kids breakfast this morning and I asked them if they noticed anything different about me and Jayden turned and said Mom you have never looked better. I said even with my short hair? He said again, you have never looked better. That made my morning I'll tell you. Alli said she liked it right when she saw me and Brandon said I looked cute. It will take getting used to though and I am having to tell myself things like just think of all the hair color and shampoo I will save. Not to mention how fast I will be able to straighten it to. It's not that I hate it, its just this haircut belongs on someone elses head not mine. One consolation is that I know it will grow back eventually, someday in the distant future. Until then adu.

Another Elk slaying by Brandon

The disposable camera he had when he shot the elk didn't have a flash so the only pics we have our in our front yard. As you can see Brandon and his good friend Ryan brought the elk whole so the kids could see it. That is the first and only time they will do it that way. As for me(Michelle) I didn't get a shot at one this year but I probably lost 2 lbs hiking all over skyline. Hopefully next year I will be blogging about my own.

Alli started dance lessons

She loved her first day at dance and I couldn't help take a few snapshots to remember the day. She had to have this frilly leotard instead of the plain one. She is such a special girl to me and I am happy she is doing something she loves. I love you Alli.

Hibiscus flowers

These are blooming next to my front porch right now and they are so gorgeous aren't they? They remind me of Hawaii being their state flower and all.
